Yes this is the preferred method of cleaning a silk scarf, best washed in Baby shampoo, just use three tablespoons of baby shampoo in a sink full of water or reduce this amount if you wish as long as you use baby shampoo you will be safe to wash this vintage scarf, baby shampoo is very gentle to clothing and accessories works much like Woolite. yes you can handwash it but be very gentle….use a less detergent….you could also try a frebreeze re freshener if your trying to clean it

silk is vulnerable to water, so hand or machine wash could be bad..its better to get it "drycleaned".
