This is a relatively simple IKAT design. The IKAT method of dyeing and weaving is similar to tie-dyeing. Lengths of silk are bound prior to dyeing so that the bound sections do not receive the dye. The binds are removed and the silk is dyed again. The pattern is in the silk strands so weaving the design is relatively straightforward.
