You can find scarves in many varied shapes, although most commonly they are square or a long, thin rectangle. Square scarves are often folded into a narrow strip and used as the long, thin rectangle may be used.

This detail can ruin a scarf when it is not up to standard. Cheaper scarves are generally machine stitched on the edges and more expensive ones are hand hemmed. The higher quality chiffon scarves are rolled and hand hemmed.

Some heavier fabrics are woven on a loom individually with the edges finished in the process.

It’s okay as long as it is not distinguishable, you know what I mean, a bloke with a pink flowered scarfe etc. You can tell by the material and design, if it is silky and flowers or pink its womens, but women can wear a males scarfe ie checkered woollen one. Thats the great advantage of being a female as you can get away with males clothes items!! he-heh!
