Its a 65% cashmere and 35% silk. Can you put pashmina scarves in the washing machine or will it damage them? On what temperature? Or should I just take it to a dry cleaners???

Hand wash with gentle washing stuff and dry by rolling up in a big bath towel overnight then when still slightly damp hang over eg banister, door so any creases fall out.

I don’t know how to wrap a silk neck scarf!

Tell me so I can understand!

Here’s how I want it to look: http://shopimages-pe.delias.com/154885_rmu_w.jpg kinda like that! THANKS!! : ) ((10 points BEST answerr!!!))

1. Lay scarf across chest/neck area wth loose ends over shoulders behind you.

2. Cross the loose ends behind your neck loosely and bring them around to front.

3. Lay loose ends so that they dangle down your front.

My pashmina scarf is light grey, and there are some stains that the dry cleaner can’t get out. I want to dye it dark/navy blue. Would RIT work, or is there something better for this type of fabric?

Pashima is a form of cashmere. They say to avoid hot water and agitation, that will “felt” the wool. But there are cold water dyes.

The reason I ask this question is I see some ladies wearing head scarfs at Mass (Church) I really would like to know the reason & meaning behind why they choose to wear ladies scarves on their head. But I am too shy to ask them about it.

Thanks for your time & God bless (Please answer respectfully *HUGS*)

They’re chapel veils (some also call them mantillas), and are worn as a sign of devotion to God. It was quite commonplace to see women wearing chapel veils or hats to church before the reforms of Vatican II.

It has to do with a Biblical passage in the New Testament (1st Corinthians) about women covering their heads when at prayer. It’s a gesture of modesty before God.

To remove an oil stain from a pashmina scarf try smothering the stain with talcum powder, leaving it for a hour while the talc soaks up the oil and then brushing out.

I’ve had oil stains on silk blouses which have come out this way. .Good luck!
